Rafael da Silva, a former Manchester United defender, lavished praise on Bruno Fernandes following his blistering start to the season.

Da Silva told the Football Show how much he appreciated the Portuguese master and what he contributed to United.

Fernandes began the new season with a hat-trick against Leeds United in front of a raucous Old Trafford crowd.

The three finishes were all different, but they all had that touch of class that the 26-year-old is known for.

Since joining the Red Devils last year, the midfielder has taken Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team to the next level.

Fernandes' presence has been greatly appreciated by fans in Manchester's red half.

Pundits, opponents, and ex-United players have all weighed in.

      “He's insane,” Da Silva stated.

“When he first arrived at Manchester United, everyone knew he was a decent player, but not a great one.

“He's been incredible. It's entertaining to watch him play. He's a really astute player.

“I enjoy watching him play for Manchester United.”

Da Silva was a Manchester United player from 2008 to 2015 before joining Lyon.

He won three Premier League titles, the League Cup, and was twice a runner-up in the Champions League.

The Brazilian would want nothing more than to see his old team relive Sir Alex Ferguson's glory days.

With the arrivals of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, there is every prospect of a new dawn at the Theatre of Dreams if Fernandes continues to lead Solskjaer's transformation.
