Man United starlet reaches agreement on new 4-yr contract after rejecting initial offer from…

James Garner and Manchester United have reached an agreement on a new deal, according to reports.

Man United is on the verge of signing James Garner to a new contract.

The team for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 2021/22 season is taking shape beautifully. We at Old Trafford Faithful expected to see James Garner.

However, that does not appear to be the case, with the midfielder likely to be loaned out again. Garner's future with the Reds is in jeopardy after recently rejecting United's initial contract offer.

Football Insider, on the other hand, reports that the prodigy has reached an agreement on a new contract. Garner's new contract will reportedly last four years, following a breakthrough in negotiations.

The Birkenhead-born midfielder will sign a contract that will last until 2025, with Garner now expected to go on loan to earn more first-team experience.

Garner appears to be on his way back to the Championship, with Nottingham Forest, Stoke City, and Sheffield United among the clubs interested. Don't forget that the midfielder truly earned a name for himself at Forest, where he made a significant contribution last season.

Personally, I would have liked to see Garner play in United's first squad this season. If that fails, a loan move to a lower-tier Premier League club is an option.

The fact that he is moving to the Championship suggests one of two things: either he isn't as good as we think he is, or clubs aren't placing enough value on him. Unfortunately, I believe it is the former, as there is a reason why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears unwilling to include him.

It's a shame since Garner has always looked sharp in pre-season with United, but maybe he just needs that extra twelve months of consistent playing time to fully contend for a first-team role here at Old Trafford.

Should Man United be giving James Garner more first-team opportunities? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
