Manchester United Submit 'Contract Offer' To Sign Bayern Munich Star On A Free Transfer In 2022

According to rumors, Manchester United is planning an audacious 'contract offer' to recruit Bayern Munich sensation Leon Goretzka on a free transfer next summer.

Paul Pogba's contract with Manchester United expires in June 2022, and the Red Devils are anxious to sign him to a new deal.

Pogba has been linked with both PSG and Juventus, but if the France international leaves Old Trafford, United will be looking to fill the midfield vacuum.

United are reportedly considering a move for Goretzka in 2022, according to German sports magazine Sport Bild.

Goretzka's current contract with Bayern Munich expires in June 2022, but the Red Devils are said to have contacted his agent and made a formal offer.

Bayern Munich has made an offer of €10 million to €12 million to sign Goretzka to a new contract, but the German midfielder demands a hefty pay rise.

Goretzka, according to Sport Bild, wants a €20 million salary package to match Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane's.

DON'T MISS:

While talks between Goretzka's representatives and Bayern have stopped, United has made a bid that is higher than Bayern's current offer.

In the race to recruit Goretzka next summer, though, the Red Devils would face stiff competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Last season, Goretzka, 26, made 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and assisting nine times.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United's manager, is expected to bolster his midfield options this summer in preparation for the next Premier League season.

The Red Devils have been connected with Eduardo Camavinga, a Liverpool target who might leave Rennes for £35 million.

United and Liverpool are also expected to compete with Barcelona for Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez, who is valued at approximately £34.3 million.

On Sunday, Solskjaer's side beat Derby County 2-1 at Pride Park to begin their pre-season.
