Sky Sports News has verified what we've all suspected for a long time: Manchester United will not make a summer move for Declan Rice!
Dharmesh Sheth, a journalist, was featured on the station earlier today, relaying United's plans to bolster their midfield.
They already spent a lot of money this summer to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, and they have a deal in principle with Real Madrid to sign Raphael Varane.
However, it appears they will be short on midfield options, and he has indicated that they do not believe Rice is a viable option for them this summer.
We've been saying it all along, and it's worth repeating here: there haven't been any bids for him yet!
“They've [Manchester United] also been associated with Declan Rice, who's been there for two or three windows now,” Sheth remarked, as quoted by West Ham Zone.
“As things stand, I'm informed there are no plans to sign Declan Rice in this transfer window, and West Ham are simply not interested in selling in this window.
“From West Ham, that's what we're hearing.”
It remains to be seen whether Sky will now redouble their efforts to bring Rice to Chelsea, but we'll have to wait and watch!
