Raphael Varane is expected to return to Real Madrid training this week, according to Marca, with a Manchester United offer "under his arm."

The 28-year-old wants the two teams to work out their differences and then he may transfer to Old Trafford if a deal is reached.

DON'T MISS:

Los Blancos are concerned that the defender has already reached a deal with the English team.

Those close to him, on the other hand, keep implying that once he returns to pre-season training, more clarity on his future will emerge.

Carlo Ancelotti's side has made it clear that if the center-back does not accept to their contract renewal request, he would be sold in order to prevent letting him depart for free in 2022, and the player has a similar plan, with his only alternative being to stay in Madrid and run down his contract.

DON'T MISS:

The Frenchman would want to either ‘accept' United's offer [if both clubs agree on a deal] or renew his contract with Real Madrid if they make a compelling offer. The latter appears doubtful at the moment, given the La Liga club's unwillingness to improve their offer.

United wants to make a smaller offer, taking into account the remaining time on Varane's contract.

Real Madrid does not want to sell poorly, and despite the fact that the epidemic has made the market difficult for them, they are not willing to sell the former Lens for a low price.

Varane has left everything in the hands of the two clubs, which means we're in for some fascinating days and weeks ahead.
