Carlo Ancelotti keen on signing Manchester United star for Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti keen on signing Manchester United star for Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has suggested Manchester United outcast Diogo Dalot to his board of directors.

After impressing during his 33 appearances for the Serie A giants, the Portuguese right-back spent last season on loan at AC Milan, and the Italians are ready to sign him permanently.

DON'T MISS:

United, on the other hand, have been unwilling to work with Milan thus far, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may turn to Dalot as a back-up to Aaron Wan-Bissaka next season if a deal for Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier fails to materialize.

However, if Trippier arrives, United will almost certainly cash in on Dalot, who is said to be a fan of Ancelotti's.

During his time at Everton, Ancelotti was interested in signing Dalot, and he believes Dalot can make the move up at the Bernabeu, either on loan or permanently.

After Joao Cancelo was forced to withdraw due to Covid-19, Dalot was given a late call-up into the Portugal squad this summer, and the tournament further reinforced his reputation with Ancelotti.

DON'T MISS:

Dalot, too, believes he is at a point in his career when he needs to play more consistently, having made just 34 appearances for United since coming for £18 million from Porto in 2018.

United are interested in signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and have already reached an agreement with the Frenchman on personal terms.

They have yet to start formal talks with Madrid about Varane, but they are anticipated to do so in the coming days.

During negotiations, Madrid might enhance its interest in Dalot, and the Portuguese could be used to reduce Varane's asking price.
