Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made it his personal mission to sign a galactico this summer and is said to be targeting a deal to bring Paul Pogba to the club.
Over the last few years, many column inches have been devoted to Pogba's future at Old Trafford. Several times, the France international appeared to be on the point of leaving the club, only to regain his form and demonstrate his loyalty to the club.

But, following a strong showing for Les Bleus at Euro 2020, his name has resurfaced as a potential United exit.
Paris Saint-Germain, a Ligue 1 powerhouse, is rumored to be eager to sign him before the start of next season. His representatives have started talking to the French giants about a prospective transfer, according to reports earlier this week.
Real Madrid has been connected with him, and a return to Juventus has also been suggested.
According to Mundo Deportivo, though, Laporta is anxious to get Pogba to the Camp Nou. They claim Laporta is keen to make a statement signing to win over the press under the headline, ‘Barca want to sign a beast for the media.'
With a year left on his contract, Laporta is said to be optimistic of luring the Frenchman to Old Trafford.
DON'T MISS:
Due to a lack of cash, Barcelona will have to get inventive in their pursuit of the World Cup winner.
According to them, Barcelona is willing to offer United two of Pogba's international teammates in order to complete the deal.
According to the Daily Express, Barcelona has targeted both Samuel Umtiti and Antoine Griezmann for the Red Devils.
Both have a long history with United as transfer partners. Griezmann was on the verge of joining Manchester United in the summer of 2017, even giving a positive assessment of the club's prospects in a TV interview.
Meanwhile, Umtiti has been mentioned as a possible United signing in the past. The defender, who has been plagued by knee troubles of late, appears to have lost his way. And, given their pursuit of Raphael Varane, it appears unlikely that United would be interested now.
Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati are two Barcelona players who have recently been linked with United.
Laporta, on the other hand, no longer wants to sell either, and the pair are thought to be off the list of players Barcelona is willing to give up.
Pogba is wanted by Sheringham to be sold.
Teddy Sheringham believes United should trade Pogba, despite the fact that his future is still up in the air.
The 55-year-old won numerous awards during his four seasons at the Theatre of Dreams. In 1998-1999, he was a member of the famed team that won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.
In total, former England forward won three Premier League championships. He continues to be a keen watcher of all things United.
And the ex-Tottenham striker didn't hold back in his criticism of the con artist.
“Isn't this a funny situation? “I told The United Stand,” he said. “He has a year left and might go on a free spree and make himself a fortune. As if they don't already make enough money!
“I'm sure if United or Ole got the impression that's what he was trying to accomplish, he'd try to sell him right now. They must obtain as much as possible for him.
“Whether that's the proper or wrong thing to do. He's been used in midfield at times and left out at others. If you're a good player, though, you won't be left out.”
