The majority of Manchester United fans want Diogo Dalot to return to the club and be given another shot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-team squad.
Following reports from Italy today that United had set a £15 million asking price for the player, supporters on The Peoples Person Facebook page were questioned, "What should United do now with Dalot?" 'Should we bring him back in, loan him out again, or sell him?'
DON'T MISS:
Those who want him to stay at Old Trafford next season said:
‘Bring him back, he's a superb RB or LB cover. Because of the high number of injuries expected this season, the biggest and greatest squad will win.'
Why seek for Trippier for 30k when Dalot, who is younger and just as skilled as Trippier, is already a United player? Bring him in and retain the $30,000 for a CDM.'
‘I believe United should continue with the right back because he possesses all of the qualities required to be among the top. He still has a lot to give for one of the greatest clubs in the world at the age of 21-22.'
‘I'm not sure why the coach decided to send him out on loan in the first place. He is a gifted young man.'
‘Dalot should stay to compete with AWB and split RB responsibilities. If both Shaw and Telles are absent, he could potentially play LB. Money would be better spent elsewhere, such as bolstering CM and ST positions.'
‘He's not awful; I'd take him on as a squad player and AWB competition.'
DON'T MISS:
'Bring him back,' I said. That young man is talented. People believe he's "not good enough for Man United," but he's wanted by Milan and Real Madrid. Baffling.’
‘With Sancho, this lad can do marvels on the right wing... He should be kept by United.'
‘If rotation is assured, keep him, renew his contract, and raise his salary to deter would-be bidders.' Dalot is on the verge of becoming a world-class player.'
Those who opposed his retention stated:
‘Sell him for 15 million pounds and use the proceeds to help Trippier.' We have Ethan Laird, who should be ready for the senior squad in two years.'
‘Since Ole doesn't trust him, I propose that we loan him out or sell him so that he can continue to grow; we can't stifle someone's development.'
‘Sell him because he's a bad defender.' A full back is first and foremost a defender, not a winger.
The PL's intensity and violence are too much for Dalot, who is prone to injury. It's time to cash in on Dalot before he has any more or other ailments.'
‘Before Ole ruins his career, the lad should go.' He'll treat Dalot the same way he treated Van de Beek. Dalot can provide us with ten years of consistency, but the ordinary Ole isn't seeing it.'
