After impressing at the London Stadium, Jesse Lingard has admitted that his loan transfer to West Ham is a 'fantastic move' for him.

The Hammers permitted the 28-year-old to reunite with his former Manchester United manager David Moyes after he was considered surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

DON'T MISS:

Lingard scored nine goals and added four assists in 16 games for West Ham, regaining his place in the England squad.

The midfielder was a member of Gareth Southgate's World Cup qualifying team in March and April, as well as the provisional Euro 2020 roster before being left out of the final group.

Lingard found the sacking difficult to accept: "It was traumatic," he told Sky Sports. "You're disappointed and upset, but you must respect the manager's choice.

"I have a wonderful relationship with Gareth, and now it's all about supporting the boys."

Lingard kept his word and went to the pub with friends to see England defeat Croatia 1-0. He even wore a Three Lions shirt with the number 'Rice 4' on the back to support his international teammates.

"I enjoy watching England because I am a fan," he stated.

"I had a good time watching the first game in the beer garden."

Lingard's future is still up in the air, but the 28-year-old has stated his intentions for next season.

DON'T MISS:

Lingard stated, "For me, regular football is the most essential thing." "You started to see the real me after coming on loan and getting a strong run in the squad, with the goals and assists.

"I've never had any doubts about my abilities; I've always trusted in myself."

Moyes has made no secret of his desire for Lingard to return to the London Stadium next season, and he has the ability to provide him with exactly what he desires.

Lingard may need to have a chat with West Ham manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, similar to the one he had with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the summer of 2020, if a move to the Hammers is to happen.

"'I need game time,' I told the manager during the preseason. 'We can talk about it in December,' he replied, and we spoke again, and he agreed to let me go on loan.

"During my time at West Ham, I had several chats with him. He was quite helpful, and it was a fantastic loan for me.

If Lingard wants regular football, West Ham will be more than happy to provide it to him. While with the Hammers, Lingard has shown that a return to the Three Lions is conceivable, and this is another goal for the 29-cap international.

"I suppose no one anticipated I'd get near the team last November," he remarked. "But I worked hard, performed well on loan, and England approached me.

"I had a great time at camp in March, and it's always good to see the boys again. I played in those games, and then becoming a part of the 33-man squad for the Euros was a dream come true.

"I put in a lot of effort to get there. I didn't make the team, but I'll always support the boys."
