Derby County's pre-season match against Manchester United, according to Wayne Rooney, is a "mouth-watering proposition."
On Sunday, July 18, at 1 p.m., the Rams will meet United at Pride Park Stadium.
Rooney added, "I'm incredibly delighted with our pre-season plans ahead of the new season."
"When the players return in July, we'll spend some time at Moor Farm Training Ground, and we'll also take them away for a week to provide a change of scenery, which will be a crucial part of our preparations.
"The game at Pride Park Stadium against Manchester United, a club with which I have a long and proud history, is a tantalizing prospect and a fantastic opportunity for us to put ourselves up against one of the top clubs in both England and Europe.
"We also have some difficult friendlies against Salford City and Notts County, which will present a range of crucial tests for us in the build-up to the season starting."
The club is awaiting permission from the UK Government and appropriate football authorities on the admission of fans to Pride Park Stadium for the home-friendly fixtures. At the earliest opportunity, the club will disseminate ticketing information and procedures.
