He celebrates reaching under-21 European Championship final

Diogo Dalot, a Manchester United fullback, is ecstatic after reaching the under-21 European Championship final.

On Thursday night, Dalot's Portugal defeated Iberian rivals Spain 1-0 in the semi-finals.

DON'T MISS:

Spain dominated the game but couldn't break through Portugal's tenacious defence, which was aided by Dalot.

Portugal then took a late lead thanks to an own goal by Spain and went on to win 1-0. After the victory, Dalot sent a message that said, "The dream continues in the Final." JOINING FORCES! Thank you all for your unwavering support.”

Dalot is one game away from a trophy.

Dalot's Portugal has now kept a clean sheet in four of the competition's five games.

DON'T MISS:

The only exception was the quarter-final against Italy, which went to extra time and ended with Portugal winning 5-3.

Aside from that nail-biter, strong defence has been the key to Portugal reaching the final.

After defeating the Netherlands in the semi-finals, Portugal will face Germany in the final on Sunday night.

Reaching the final is a significant accomplishment for Portugal, especially given that England was eliminated in their group in March.

Portugal's success in reaching this stage will help Dalot's reputation. If his future lies outside of Old Trafford, his success may pique the interest of clubs abroad.

Portugal is attempting to win the tournament for the first time after finishing runners-up twice previously.
