In an interview on Sky One's Redknapp's Big Night Out, Jesse Lingard praised Mark Noble and the entire West Ham United experience.
West Ham manager David Moyes is desperate to sign Lingard on a permanent basis following his sensational loan spell at the London Stadium from Manchester United.
There has been much speculation about whether Manchester United will sell or try to entice Lingard to sign a new contract.
There has even been speculation that the Red Devils may try to use Lingard as a makeweight in trades with other clubs.
Moyes is desperate to sign Lingard as soon as possible, but his future remains uncertain.
According to West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh, Lingard is still one of Moyes' three top priority signings this summer.
And West Ham fans want him to stay as well.
Lingard has a year left on his contract, so the power is in his hands.
But when he appeared as a guest on Redknapp's Big Night Out Episode 6 – which is presented by Jamie Redknapp alongside his former Hammers player and manager dad Harry and celebrity West Ham fan Tom Davis – he remained tight-lipped about his future.
West Ham fans hoping for a glimmer of hope that Lingard will stay will be encouraged by comments he made about Noble's influence and the overall Hammers experience.
Lingard praises Noble's influence and West Ham experience but remains tight-lipped about his next move.
Lingard said on Redknapp's Big Night Out Episode 6: "It's been good (playing for West Ham)."
“Obviously, playing week in and week out was the main thing at first, because I just wanted to play football and have fun.
When you have people like Nobes and the rest of the players and staff welcoming you, you know you're going to settle in fairly quickly, and since the Villa game, I've settled in right away, scoring two goals and it's kind of set me off from there.
“Obviously, it's very different” (at West Ham compared to Man United). I just feel like going to West Ham, you know Nobes, I remember one of the first days I went there, I was getting in the car with him to go to the airport for a game and he was like, ‘Don't be on your phone, we converse,' and it was little things like that, back at Man United you're always on your phone.
‘Nobes and West Ham have matured me and changed my mindset.'
“Nobes brought that out in a team, and it changed my mindset a little bit, and I think it's just a matter of maturing and becoming more responsible during my time there. And I believe Mark Noble has undoubtedly aided me in this regard.”
Lingard's future was brought up only once, when comedian Davis interpreted his answer about his favorite soap as a hint.
Lingard was asked if he watched Coronation Street or EastEnders.
And he replied, "I'm a Corrie man, me."
Davis compared it to interpreting everything an ex-girlfriend says. But let's hope the Hammers can complete the deal so West Ham fans can see Lingard in the claret and blue again next season.
