Gary Neville makes Jesse Lingard transfer prediction as West Ham eye Manchester United deal

Jesse Lingard's loan at West Ham is coming to an end, but Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp are confident he will return to the London Stadium next season.

Jesse Lingard's loan spell at West Ham has ended, but Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp believe he will return to the London Stadium next season.

DON'T MISS:

The 28-year-old started his West Ham career in spectacular fashion, scoring twice on debut against Aston Villa before finishing the season with nine goals and four assists in 16 appearances.

Lingard's excellent form saw him return to the England squad for the first time in nearly two years, and he is expected to be named to the Three Lions' preliminary Euro 2020 squad on Tuesday.

Former Manchester United defender Neville believes Lingard will join West Ham on a permanent basis.

DON'T MISS:

"Jesse now needs to play every week," he said, according to Sky Sports.

"He can't go back to Man United's bench after this." He's a celebrity there, so why not go if you can? "I am confident West Ham will pay a high price for him."

Redknapp agreed with Neville, saying, "It's inspired from both perspectives." If he returns to Manchester United, he will not play ahead of Bruno Fernandes.

"Go play football." He's realized how good of a player he is. Everyone was saying, "He hasn't made an assist, he hasn't scored a goal," but he has played at the highest level, including a World Cup semi-final appearance.

"We know his talent, we know his quality, and as a player, it's easy to forget." But he now understands that he is a valuable commodity.

"It's critical that he makes the right decision. West Ham appears to be a good fit for him. He appears to be very settled, and the players appear to enjoy having him around. I think it would be a great move, and if they can afford him, I think he'd be a great buy for them."
