Dan James says the Europa League final will be the biggest game of his career so far

The Europa League final is Daniel James' first opportunity to win a trophy as a Manchester United player.

James made no apologies for admitting that the match against Villarreal in Gdansk will be the most important match of his career thus far.

DON'T MISS:

The Welshman, 23, will hope to win many trophies during his career, and he has an opportunity to start now.

James will almost certainly be a substitute against Unai Emery's side, but his pace could be crucial against tiring legs if the game is close.

When asked if the game would be the biggest of his career, he replied, "100%."

“It's the only final in which I've ever competed. Winning the European Cup would be a dream come true for me. I've never been a part of anything.

“I wasn't even present when Wales advanced to the Euro semi-finals, so this would be the biggest game of my career, and it would be fantastic to come away with the trophy.

DON'T MISS:

“It would mean everything to me” (to play). I came to this club knowing we were going to make many finals, and to be a part of one that is so important to the club and to us would mean the world to me.”

United has had a lot of success with players like Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, and David de Gea.

Their expertise will be crucial on the night, but so will the desire of players like James to win their first trophy.

It's refreshing to hear a player be open about how much he values his involvement.

The Welshman will be hoping to make a significant contribution to make the biggest game of his career even sweeter.
