Danny Ings, the Southampton striker, admits he is unaware of the transfer rumors swirling around him right now.

Ings, who is on course to be the club's top scorer for the second season in a row, has recently been linked with a move away from St Mary's, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur both claiming an interest in signing the 28-year-old.

Long-term prospects for Ings are unknown. The striker, who has three England caps, has been in talks with the club about potentially signing a new contract, but no agreement on an extension has been reached as of yet.

Despite recent speculation linking Ings to a move away, the striker, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side this season, is focused on finishing the 2020/21 season strongly with the Saints, who have had a rollercoaster season.

”I have a contract until the summer of 2022,” he confirmed to talkSPORT. “I haven't really addressed [transfer rumors].”

DON'T MISS:

“I've just been concentrating on each game. In the end, I still have a contract here.

My main goal for the season is to finish strong.”

In three seasons in Hampshire, Ings has scored 46 goals in 97 appearances, 41 of which have come in the Premier League.

Speaking recently about Ings' future, Saints manager Hasenhuttl expressed confidence that the English international would sign new terms to stay with the club in the coming months.

"He understands that we want him to stay with us for as long as he wants," Hasenhuttl said.

"I am confident that it will happen; it may not happen right away, but I am confident that we will have this opportunity in the coming months."

"With Danny, we're on a different wavelength. He creates chances and scores when he shouldn't. He is extremely important to us."
