Manchester United's current director of football, John Murtough, has revealed what kind of moves people might expect in the future.
The club took a series of restructuring announcements on personnel and what has been going on behind the scenes, which resulted in the creation of two new jobs.
DON'T MISS:
As one of the improvements, Darren Fletcher was elevated to technical director, and Nicky Butt resigned his role as head of the first-team production.
Some believe he left the club due to disagreements with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and seeing how he has spoken out against the establishment of a European Super League, those rumors may be true.
Fans are eager to see what the latest hires will mean for United's summer transfer deals, and only time will say if they can provide the desired results.
Murtaugh told the Manchester Evening News: "The recruiting department has to concentrate on taking in players for tomorrow, those who have talent, and for now, those who are willing to play for the first team right now."
“The scouting team collaborates closely with Ole to develop alternatives for consideration depending on the sort of profile that Ole believes the team requires. Ole has a veto so the club will not sign a player who is not desired by the board.
DON'T MISS:
“In the transfer market, the club has always supported its boss. There has been a systematic and focused approach to player recruiting for the last two or three seasons, as shown by what has happened over the last two to three seasons.
“The transfer market will be difficult in the coming 12 months, but when the best players are available, who suit our profile, for the right values, we will be in and around those openings when they arise.”
Manchester United's future approach seems to be to make long-term discount purchases with the odd big move thrown in for good measure.
It would not be unreasonable to predict more Amad-type signings than normal Jadon Sancho agreements, particularly given the effects of the global health crisis.
Murtaugh has a lot to prove in his current role, and the spotlight will be on him from now on to produce the kind of players required for long-term success.
