From our article - Man Utd are set to officially announce another summer signing - suggested that the club were interested to complete the deal for the 27-year-old Brazilian international currently on the books of Porto.
But, so far, the rumors going on social media have yet to result in a deal being finalized.
Today, however, several news sources offer an update.

Firstly, according to the Guardian news, Man Utd is championing the suggestion that although contact between the two clubs has already been made, it just left for a fee to be agreed.
Also according to the Manchester United Evening News, Manchester United is inferring that following the disastrous start to the season, against the Eagles, the club is interested to get the deal done over the line as quickly as possible.
Thirdly, The Daily Star also claims that Manchester United tried to include the 21-year-old Diogo Dalot as part of the deal but the offer from the England Outfit has been rejected by FC Porto.
I reckon a deal is imminent, but I can only hope it is completed soon to shore up a defense that seems far from title-winning class in that aforementioned 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.
Fingers crossed an announcement is forthcoming in the next 24-hours regarding the new signing!
