Currently, Manchester United have just signed one player in this window, the Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek was signed for  £40million.

Their top target still remains Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho.

However, Ian Wright Arsenal legend says there is no need to bring in a player like Jadon Sancho when the United defense is still not good enough to win the title.

Wright to the Premier League Production, 'People are talking about who United might buy, some talk about striker - but at the moment, they need to start focusing on that center-half pairing.

'If you can get any of those pairs isolated in any situation, you are definitely going to get something out of it.

'I thought some of Maguire's positioning against Crystal Palace was very poor and Lindelof, just too weak, weak in certain situations.

'they have got to fix these out that center-half pairing, for me.

'it is not good enough at this level for Manchester United if they are challenging for the title. the two defenders Maguire and Lindelof are not good enough.

'the fact is, that is not good enough for Man Utd. At this point in time, with what Man Utd are supposedly meant to be trying to do, people are still talking about the England international Sancho coming, what's the point?

'you are going to buy Jadon Sancho but still have two pairs of defenders who git absolutely roasted against Crystal Palace without actually trying too hard.'

Manchester United legend Gary Neville was commentating on the match against Crystal Palace and he also claimed that the back-line is an area that must be focused now for improvement.

'You can talk about Sancho all you like until they get good defenders in that can run and defend one-on-one, you are never going to smell the Premier League title.' Neville said.

'if you look at all the best center-half pairs down the years, they have always had a quick one.'
