Victor Lindelof reveals extent of back injury which adversely affected Manchester United form

Victor Lindelof is hoping to be free of the back ailment that has troubled him since joining Manchester United.

As the Premier League heavyweights set to recruit Raphael Varane, the 27-year-old, who represented Sweden at Euro 2020 this summer, is preparing up for a fresh challenge this season.

Lindelof's £34 million transfer means he'll struggle for regular playing time and will most likely have to settle for a supporting role in the future.

When the Swede is called upon to fill in for Varane or United captain Harry Maguire, though, he will be firing on all cylinders.

Despite a back condition, Lindelof nevertheless managed to make 29 Premier League games last season, and was a starter in Gdansk when United lost their Uefa Europa League match against Villarreal.

Lindelof told the official MUFC website, "I feel much better now."

"I've been putting in a lot of time and effort on my back, especially over the break." Last season, I had a lot of trouble with it and had to work hard to get through it.

"I'd play a game, then take a few of days off, and then it'd be right into another game."

That was difficult, but as I previously stated, I've been putting in a lot of effort with various exercises and treatments, and I'm feeling much better."

Since joining United from Benfica in 2017, the 45-cap international has appeared in 161 appearances in all competitions.
