After a sensational 18 months with Borussia Dortmund, striker Erling Haaland is expected to be in high demand next summer.

Haaland, who turned down the chance to join Manchester United in 2020, has quickly risen to become one of Europe's most sought-after players, and he will be available for sale in less than a year.

Fabrizio Romano, a journalist and transfer expert, has provided an update on the situation, stating that Manchester United will be in the competition next year and highlighting the forward's "strong" relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Chelsea were heavily connected with the Norwegian superstar this summer, but no deal was struck, according to Romano, who claims that no proposal was made due to Dortmund's high demands.

According to Romano, Haaland's release clause, which was placed in his 2020 transfer from RB Salzburg, will allow the 21-year-old to go for just €75 million next summer.

“With many clubs, next summer will be an open situation,” Romano said on his YouTube page. “Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and a variety of other clubs are frequently asked about.

“I believe all of these clubs will be in contention next summer. So, of course, we can mention Manchester United and Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer's) good friendship with him.”

Despite the fact that the player has a strong bond with Solskjaer, having previously worked with him at Molde, United will face stiff competition for his signing if they attempt to sign him.
