Both Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial's futures at Manchester United are questionable due to contract and form worries, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken positively about the pair.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer acknowledges that Paul Pogba's future will always be a topic of discussion, but claims that all of his conversations with the midfielder are "good."

The club's record signing is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford.

PSG was extensively connected with his services before signing Lionel Messi, and Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, has attempted to stage an exit on multiple occasions.

Although Solskjaer and the Frenchman have a great bond, United may soon be forced to make a decision over his future.

Speculation has remained, but the Norwegian insists the player is aware of his responsibilities.

“He is a Manchester United player with one year remaining on his contract "He stated.

"Every talk and discussion is constructive. He is aware of our desires.

"It's usually this way with Paul; he's a media magnet.”

Doubts also linger about Anthony Martial's future, which has been called into question despite spending six years in Manchester.

With the acquisition of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United has bolstered their attacking options.

He joins Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, and Edinson Cavani at Old Trafford, highlighting the club's depth.

Martial only scored four league goals last season, but Solskjaer believes he is a more determined character this season, and interest in him is unavoidable.

"I wouldn't be shocked if other teams were interested in Anthony since he is a very excellent player," he continued.

"He's back, and he's hungry to prove his worth. You can see the grit in his teeth once more; he is up for the challenge. We are grateful to have him."

Both players are in contention to face Leeds in the season opener on Saturday.

Following a second-place finish last season, United have been tipped as title contenders, especially with the additions of Sancho and Raphael Varane on the way.

"Well, we've gradually closed the gaps," Solskjaer stated.

"Nothing is out of reach for these athletes, and I wouldn't bet against them. It will require a very good season. You want to go to April and May and be a part of that."

He went on to say: "Every season, there is always a lot of pressure.

"One chunk of work is completed once pre-season is completed. We need to get off to a solid start.

"This club is about trophies and fantastic football, and we must continue to grow.

"The crew appears to be hungry, and we appear to have done well. The first couple of games are usually a mystery."
