Man Utd offered hope of completing third key transfer after Rennes director speaks out

Man Utd offered hope of completing third key transfer after Rennes director speaks out

Manchester United wants to keep strengthening their team after acquiring Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Manchester United has been given renewed hope of signing French prodigy Edouardo Camavinga this summer after Rennes head Florian Maurice admitted the Frenchman wants to go.

Camavinga, 18, has been dubbed one of the world's top young midfielders following some strong performances for Les Rennais and the French national team.

The Angolan-born midfielder, who made his debut for the Brittany-based club at the age of 16 years and four months, has already made 96 appearances for his side.

And he shot to fame at the start of this season when he was called up to the French national team at the age of 17, making him the youngest Les Blues player of all time.

Camavinga not only made an impression on his debut, but he also became the youngest goalscorer in the history of his national team with the first goal in a 7-1 thumping of Ukraine.

Clubs all over the world have been alerted to his rapid growth, but realistically, only the world's greatest clubs stand a chance of signing him.

And Old Trafford executives are keeping a close eye on his progress, with the possibility of making him their third marquee signing of the summer, following Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

They are competing with French powers PSG, but with Camavinga almost certain to start at Old Trafford, Camavinga may be enticed by game time.

Rennes would obviously prefer to keep him, but sporting director Maurice grudgingly disclosed that the midfielder wishes to leave France Bleu Armorique.

"I know what he wants," he explained. "We now have to find a solution that satisfies both parties. "When a player's contract expires,

we have to either renew it and find a solution, or we have to find a solution to an exit." With goalkeeping, defensive, and attacking roles being strengthened at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to be looking for a midfielder to complete his jigsaw.
