Left-back for Manchester United. Brandon Williams is looking forward to a season-long loan transfer away from Old Trafford in order to gain more playing time.

The 20-year-old made just 14 appearances for Manchester United last season and is keen to leave the club now that Luke Shaw has clinched the regular starting slot in his position.

Williams still sees his long-term future with the club after signing a new contract until 2024 last season, but with Alex Telles sidelined for at least the first month of the season, it's surprising that he's unwilling to stick around and give insurance.

According to the Manchester Evening News Ole Gunnar Solskjaer quickly identified the Englishman as his preferred full-back, but it appears Williams is still looking for a way out:

"Unfortunately, the news on Alex Telles is not as good as we had hoped," Solskjaer stated last week. "His ankle injury is a little more serious than we anticipated, and he'll be out for at least a month, perhaps the entire month of August."

“That's how football works. Of course, we have children who wish to play. Brandon has performed admirably at left-back."

DON'T MISS:

With Telles still on crutches and wearing a protective boot, the youthful left-back was anticipated to battle both Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a spot in the starting 11.

Southampton and Newcastle United were bo

th interested in taking the defender on loan in January, but it's unclear whether they'll be interested again this time.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Due to the fact that the transfer window does not close until the end of August, Solskjaer may decide to sanction a late loan move for Williams and keep him around until Telles is in contention for a starting spot.
