Rio Ferdinand reacts to Jadon Sancho's England Euro 2020 performance in 4-0 win over Ukraine

In England's 4-0 quarter-final triumph over Ukraine, Jadon Sancho made his debut.

Harry Maguire, a new Manchester United teammate, scored by heading in a Luke Shaw cross.

DON'T MISS:

Another goal was assisted by Shaw, who crossed for Harry Kane. England put in an absolutely dominant performance.

Sancho was threatening throughout the game, even when he wasn't scoring.

Rio Ferdinand, a former United Champions League winner, told BBC Sport that this was just a taste of what Sancho can do at Old Trafford.

“I'll tell you what, at Man United, he'll have people off the seats,” Ferdinand stated.

“There are times in this game when he takes your breath away and you think to yourself, ‘ooh wow, that's different.'

“We all know he's a wonderful talent, but he's also mentally tough. He aspires to be the best he can be and to realize his full potential.”

Sancho's performance and Ferdinand's words give United a lot of hope for next season.

For the time being, we can just enjoy England's incredible run, which has seen them go five games without conceding a goal at Euro 2020.

Sancho completed 93 percent of his passes in 90 minutes against Ukraine.

DON'T MISS:

He won seven duels and caused havoc by successfully dribbling four times.

This was just a taster, and it was good to see him playing with confidence. It looks lie United have a real player.

Jadon Sancho: Why Manchester United signed him

  1. Jadon Sancho had a prolific 2020/21 season
Sancho ended the season with 16 goals and 19 assists in all competitions, bouncing back from a slow start.
  2. Sancho can play on both wings
Sancho is predominantly a right winger but also started several games on the left for Dortmund last season. His arrival would give United extra versatility on both sides.
  3. Sancho became the youngest ever player in the Bundesliga to score 15 goals
He set this record in his first season, breaking a record which had stood since 1967. He now has 50 career goals for the club and more than 50 assists.
  4. Always looking to create chances
Sancho made more passes into the penalty area (82) than any other player in the Bundesliga in the 2020/21 season. He also dribbled into the final third the highest number of times (81).
  5. Gets better as games go on
14 of Sancho’s 17 Bundesliga goals in the 2019/20 season were scored in the second half of matches as he wore opponents down, along with 12 of his assists.

Now he’s a winner
Sancho scored two goals and provided one assist to help Dortmund to a German Cup final win over RB Leipzig in May.
