According to reporter Julien Laurens, Manchester United is interested in signing Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes, who will be out of contract next year.
The Red Devils have been linked with a summer move for the 18-year-old Rennes midfielder as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to enhance his team ahead of next season.
DON'T MISS:
The defensive midfielder's current contract with the French club is set to expire next summer, and the Ligue 1 club will be fearful of losing him on a free transfer the following season.
Camavinga scored one goal and added two assists in 35 Ligue 1 games last season for the French club, and he could be on his way to the Premier League this summer.
Camavinga's status this summer has been updated by ESPN writer Laurens, with Paris Saint-Germain also rumored to be interested in the precocious teenage midfielder.
“Manchester United are interested in him because he has a year left on his contract,” Laurens told ESPN FC about Camavinga.
DON'T MISS:
“At Rennes, he's not going to prolong. It's a good time to go buy him for a reasonable price.
“Other teams, such as PSG, are interested. Because he's working with Jonathan Barnett (Gareth Bale's agent), he might be able to open some doors. He'll be able to write his own ticket.”
Camavinga made 40 appearances for Rennes in all competitions last season, scoring one goal and assisting on two others.
Manchester United have already started their summer splurge by agreeing in principle to buy Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
