Man Utd want to complete two more signings after Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane

Man Utd want to complete two more signings after Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane

Manchester United is rumored to be close to signing Raphael Varane, and the spending isn't expected to stop there.

The Red Devils believe this is the ideal time to close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, and they want to get their business done as soon as possible.

DON'T MISS:

Last summer, United waited until the final day of the transfer window in October to complete four deals, the most notable of which were Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles.

Despite the fact that pre-season has only just begun, United have already made two additions in the form of Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho.

Sancho's arrival has yet to be formally confirmed by the club, though an announcement might come at any time.

Raphael Varane and I have also reached an agreement on personal terms.

United is willing to sign him to a five-year contract, but must first agree on a fee with Real Madrid.

However, even if Varane joins United, the board has no plans to stop there.

Kieran Trippier is a highly sought-after player, with talks with Atletico Madrid already started.

After winning La Liga last season, he is desperate to return to England and is working hard to make it happen.

DON'T MISS:

Patience is essential, but United is optimistic that the transaction will go through.

Trippier's current deal expires in a year, and if Atletico do not accept an offer now, they risk losing him for free in the future.

Telles' presence last season helped Luke Shaw's game reach new heights, and the England full-back would give healthy competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United would also like to add a defensive midfielder to their squad.

They have additional talent in midfield with Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba pulling the strings forward, but they are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements.

Declan Rice is one of the candidates the board likes, but additional options are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.

In the last 48 hours, Houssem Aouar, a box-to-box midfielder, has also been linked.

United are convinced that with the acquisition of five new players, they will be able to contend for the top awards.
