Manchester United's first pre-season match at Pride Park is expected to kick off the 2021/22 season. Derby County, led by Wayne Rooney, will be the opponent as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to get off to a winning start in the new season.
A number of first-team regulars are expected to miss the encounter owing to extended vacations, but their absence will provide an opportunity for numerous young players to impress Solskjaer as they vie for first-team spots this season.

James Garner, who has been practicing with the group since their return earlier this month and is expected to start the game, is one of the youths trying to make an impression.
Garner improved under Chris Hughton at Nottingham Forest after an unsatisfactory start to the season at Watford and is allegedly drawing interest from Premier League clubs.
Anthony Elanga, who was a surprise starter in two of Manchester United's final three league games last season, might also start after excelling in his brief first-team appearance. Hannibal Mejbri, Shola Shoretire, Facundo Pellistri, and Dylan Levitt are all available and expected to play.
Dean Henderson, Axel Tuanzebe, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira, and Mason Greenwood are all fully trained and ready for Solskjaer's selection. While Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek are out, Jesse Lingard returned to training this week.
