While nothing is imminent in the case of Paul Pogba, you get the idea that he will not be a Manchester United player for much longer.
Even if he stays, there is a case to be made that Man United needs to buy a more "complete" midfielder who can do it all, and there has been much speculation regarding a move for Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez.
He may not be a glamorous acquisition, but he's active, good on the ball, and entering his prime at the age of 26, so he may be a decent addition, and a report from The Mail via our colleagues at Football-Espana suggests a deal is close.
According to reports, a figure of roughly £45 million is close to being agreed upon, with Atletico willing to let him go for that amount, albeit it is thought that his arrival will allow Paul Pogba to depart the club as a result.
DON'T MISS:
In terms of playing style, Pogba and Saul are completely different, and while you could argue that Pogba is the better player, you could also argue that Saul is a better fit for this United club.
He will perform a lot of selfless work, allowing Bruno Fernandes to be the unquestioned creator in the midfield, so if they move Pogba for a comparable price, this may be a good deal.
