Kieran Trippier hopeful of €35m United bid in spite of Jadon Sancho splash at Old Trafford

Kieran Trippier hopeful of €35m United bid in spite of Jadon Sancho splash at Old Trafford

Kieran Trippier is anxious to return to the Premier League this summer, as he waits to see whether Manchester United would make another bid for him.

United have already failed in at least one attempt to recruit Trippier, who is valued at roughly £30 million (€35 million) by Atletico Madrid.

Trippier's Atletico contract has one year left on it, with a 12-month extension option, but the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is ready to notify the Spaniards that he wants to return to England.

DON'T MISS:

Apart from United, it is understood that two other Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing Trippier, but he is said to prefer a transfer to Old Trafford.

Trippier was a standout for England at the European Championships, supplying the cross that allowed United's Luke Shaw to score in the final against Italy. Trippier's efforts, many of which came as part of a back four or five that included United captain Harry Maguire and Shaw, have only piqued interest in him.

However, after spending £73 million (€85 million) on Jadon Sancho, United would like to sell players before determining whether or not to pursue Trippier, who was born in Bury and began his career at Manchester City.

Trippier's family is a United supporter, so a return to Manchester would be a homecoming for him.

Trippier won La Liga last season after spending two years in Spain.
