He admits he suffered in the same way as Emma Raducanu

Marcus Rashford, an England striker, has given Emma Raducanu a note of encouragement following her withdrawal from Wimbledon.

Raducanu withdrew from her fourth-round match against Australian Tomljanovic due to illness, admitting that “the whole experience caught up with me” following a rollercoaster week that catapulted her into the international spotlight in record time.

DON'T MISS:

On Twitter, Rashford expressed sympathy for Raducanu's dilemma, admitting that he had a similar experience when he was a junior international.

It happened to me playing for the national team in U16s against Wales. I remember it to this day. No explanation for it and it never happened again. You should be very proud of yourself. The c— Marcus Rashford MBE (@MarcusRashford) July 6, 2021

Former Wimbledon champions John McEnroe came under fire after suggesting nerves got the better of Raducanu, with Judy Muray joining the debate that was fueled by tweets from her son Andy as he hit back at outspoke broadcaster Piers Morgan.

Judy’s tweet left little to the imagination as she made this statement on Raducanu’s Wimbledon exit:

They will NEVER experience or fully understand that world. pic.twitter.com/ZdWcpnsnvw
