As Manchester United's stars return for pre-season training ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Premier League season, one former player has encouraged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to get rid of one of his underperforming players.
Teddy Sheringham's name, along with Solskjaer's, will be forever linked with that tragic night at the Camp Nou in 1999, when the pair scored two late goals to help the Red Devils win the Champions League.
DON'T MISS:
Paul Pogba's former attack partner, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has had enough of the French World Cup winner in a United shirt and has pushed his ex-teammate to finally get rid of him.
“Isn't this a funny situation?” According to the Daily Mirror, Sheringham remarked on The United Stand.
“He has a year left and could go on a free trip and make himself a fortune – as if they don't already make enough money.
DON'T MISS:
“I believe if United or Ole got the impression that's what he was trying to do, he'd want to sell him immediately for as much as he could.
“Whether that's the proper thing to do or not... he's played in midfield and been left out, but you don't be left out if you're a quality player.
“That's all there is to it. You don't get left out if you're that good.”
It's always been assumed that Pogba's head is elsewhere and that his performances at Old Trafford are night and day when compared to those in a French shirt.
If United can get a good price for him, it might be the appropriate moment to let him go.
