Arnau Puigmal has stated that he has agreed to join Almeria.
anchester United released Puigmal on June 30.
DON'T MISS:
Puigmal had a fantastic start to the season for United's under-23s, scoring seven goals in 12 appearances as a midfielder.
However, it became clear that his expiring contract would not be renewed, due to a combination of his desire to return to Spain and United's refusal to provide him first-team opportunities.
Puigmal's statement was greeted with joy by new Almeria teammate Largie Ramazani, who joined the Spanish club last season after leaving Manchester United.
Last season, Almeria finished fourth in Spain's second tier, missing out on promotion in the play-offs.
Puigmal will be hoping for promotion and a spot in La Liga from 2022 if his move goes well.
The move appears to be ideal for him. Puigmal is under contract until 2026, according to Almeria's website.
DON'T MISS:
That's a very long-term contract for a 20-year-old athlete to sign, and it gives him significant security while also giving Almeria a decent resale value if he performs well.
Puigmal, 20, joined United as a teenager from Espanyol.
Puigmal is the club's fifth player over the age of 18 to sign a new contract.
Mark Helm has joined Burnley, while Iestyn Hughes has joined Leicester. RKC Waalwijk signed Jacob Carney and RKC Waalwijk signed Joel Pereira.
Puigmal's move to Almeria was not unexpected, since The Mail reported in May that they were frontrunners. Although it appears to be a fantastic bargain for him, the hard work has only just begun.
