Manchester United has reportedly signed goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Aston Villa, who will be introduced at the start of next month.

Tom Heaton is set to make a spectacular return to Manchester United, according to an exclusive revelation from Football Insider. The experienced Aston Villa goalkeeper has agreed to terms with his former club for a summer transfer.

DON'T MISS:

Heaton, on the other hand, isn't likely to be unveiled until July 1st, when the transfer window officially opens. The goalkeeper, on the other hand, will have his medical at Old Trafford later in June before signing a two-year contract with the possibility of a three-year extension.

Tom Heaton, a Manchester United youth academy product, will make a stunning return to the club if his transfer to Old Trafford is finalized. Following his time with the U18s, the Englishman was promoted to the senior team in 2004, when he was playing under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Heaton's professional path, unfortunately, included loan appearances at Swindon Town, Cardiff City, Wycombe Wanderers, Royal Antwerp, and Rochdale before signing a permanent contract with Cardiff in 2010.

The 35-year-old, though, rose to prominence during his time at Burnley – a club he joined back in 2013. Heaton quickly established himself as the Clarets' number one, even playing a major role in their promotion-winning 2013/14 campaign.

DON'T MISS:

Before joining Aston Villa in 2019, the goalkeeper made 200 competitive appearances during his stint at Turf Moor. Unfortunately, the Englishman has recently dropped behind Emiliano Martinez in the pecking order, and his Villa Park contract expires at the end of the season.

It means Manchester United will sign him for nothing, which is a reasonable decision given the Red Devils' goalkeeping conundrum at Old Trafford, where they are t orn between two options in Dean Henderson and David de Gea, who is linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Heaton, on the other hand, is expected to be a straight replacement for Sergio Romero and Lee Grant, as well as the favored option for either de Gea or Henderson.

According to rumors, the 35-year-old will be granted a coaching position for young goalkeepers. It makes sense because the Aston Villa veteran has accumulated a wealth of knowledge in English football over the years, making him a valuable asset for both new players and established players like Henderson.
