Man Utd attacked by Borussia Dortmund as they respond to his transfer bid

Man Utd attacked by Borussia Dortmund as they respond to his transfer bid

Manchester United is interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund has rejected Manchester United's proposal for Jadon Sancho. The Bundesliga heavyweights have now launched an attack on the Red Devils, claiming that they "do not grasp how brilliant the player is." After missing out on the 21-year-old in the past, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign him.

DON'T MISS:

Manchester United had initially targeted Erling Haaland as their top summer transfer target.

However, they've chosen to go after Sancho instead, with Borussia Dortmund willing to let the 21-year-old leave.

United have tried three times in the past to sign the England international, with interest stretching back to Jose Mourinho's tenure as manager.

They're now hopeful that the 21-year-old, who has already made two bids since the transfer market reopened, will eventually make a big move to Old Trafford.

However, according to journalist Patrick Berger, United's latest offer has been rejected.

Dortmund also believes United 'doesn't realize how brilliant Sancho is,' implying the Bundesliga side is dissatisfied with the progress of negotiations.

Update, Sancho: I need to rephrase something!” He sent out a tweet.

“Today's reports are accurate: Borussia Dortmund has received an improved offer from Manchester United.

“However, it is still insufficient for #BVB. In Dortmund, many believe #MUFC is unaware of Sancho's true abilities.”United wasted their feet in the Sancho negotiations a year ago, betting that Dortmund would finally cave in and accept a lower fee for their No. 7 player.

DON'T MISS:

However, they were misinformed, and they later decided to buy Edinson Cavani on a free transfer from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

United are trying to sign Sancho, but despite stepping up their efforts, it appears that the deal is still a long way off.

Part of their hesitation to pay up could be due to a desire to bolster other parts of their team as well.

Kieron Trippier is being considered to compete with Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back, but any prospective trade will be costly, with Atletico Madrid wanting £43 million.

Raphael Varane will cost at least £60 million to sign from Real Madrid, however, Pau Torres would be a cheaper option.

Declan Rice and Jack Grealish are likely to command high transfer fees from West Ham and Aston Villa, respectively.

While Juventus would like to remove Cristiano Ronaldo off the payroll, they would also desire to profit from any possible transfer.

While United are keen to sign Sancho, Gary Neville has stated that he does not believe he will be required if Mason Greenwood is viewed as a long-term right-winger.

"They urgently require a center-back to complement Harry Maguire. Although I believe the back four and defense have performed admirably, they are at their absolute peak right now ", he stated recently.

"Aaron Wan-Bissaka, in my opinion, is progressing and getting better on a weekly basis.

“I believe Luke Shaw is the finest and always has been in terms of talent if he can remain fit.

"With Harry Maguire, they have someone who is highly dependable and capable of leading the squad; all they need now is another central defender to round out the back four.

"It's a risk because I think Maguire and Lindelof are fantastic together, but it's a risk you have to take to go.

"If you look at Dias, Van Dijk, and Harry Maguire, they're all kingpins in the middle of the defense, but they all have fantastic partners, and I think United could use another one."

He went on to say: "There's a problem right upfront.

“We've never had a fixed right-winger in the last few years, and I think Marcus Rashford is OK on the left. Is Mason Greenwood a right-winger, you might argue?

"Is he a right-winger or a center forward, that is the question? Manchester United requires a right-winger if he is to play as a center-forward in the long run.

“They need a center-forward if Mason Greenwood is a right-winger."
