This summer, the England right-back has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

According to reports, Kieran Trippier has already begun looking for housing in the Manchester area after beginning talks with Manchester United.

Trippier had a fantastic season with Atletico Madrid and looks set to return to the Premier League this summer.

The England right-back appeared in 35 games for Atletico Madrid, helping Diego Simeone's team win La Liga for the first time in seven years.

Trippier joined Atleti for £20 million from Tottenham in July 2019 and has one year left on his contract with the Spanish club.

While he has enjoyed his time in Spain, he is said to be interested in returning to England after competing in Euro 2020.United have emerged as a possible destination for the 30-year-old, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly looking for competition at right-back for Aaron Wan-Bissaka next season.

According to The Athletic, Matt Judge, United's director of football negotiations, is already in talks with Trippier's camp about a transfer.

Trippier, who was born in Bury and played for Manchester City as a child, is said to want to return to the northwest.

It goes on to say that Trippier has been looking at houses in the Manchester area before focusing on England's Euro 2020 campaign.

According to the report, United came close to signing him in January and had ‘advanced talks' with Trippier and Atletico Madrid before the FA's 10-week ban for betting offences ended their interest.

A fee of £10 million has been proposed, but Atletico will reportedly try to negotiate a higher figure if he does leave.

United are not the only club looking for a right-back this summer and may face competition for his services.

According to Marca, Arsenal has proposed a swap deal involving Hector Bellerin, the Spanish defender who wants to return to his home country.

With Sime Vrsaljko failing to step up last season, Bellerin is seen as the ideal replacement for Trippier.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Atletico Madrid technical director Andrea Berta is a fan of Bellerin and has already spoken with the 26-year-old.

Trippier is an appealing transfer target for both clubs because he can play in multiple positions.

The former Burnley player can play right-back, right wing-back, and left-back, where he started England's friendly against Austria on Wednesday.

He is expected to play a significant role in England's Euro 2020 campaign, especially since Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced to withdraw from the squad due to a thigh injury.
