Those who saw Christian Eriksen tumble to the ground during Denmark's match against Finland will remember the images for a long time.
As the medical staff treated him for what seemed like a lifetime, it was impossible not to fear the worst.
However, as Eriksen was stretchered off the pitch, some positive photographs of him conscious appeared.
The positive news kept rolling in, with the Danish FA and UEFA both confirming that the player was awake and stable. Eriksen even addressed his Denmark teammates, telling them to finish the game.
They did just that, but Finland defeated them 1-0.
As that game ended in Copenhagen, the final match of the day began at Russia's Krestovsky Stadium, with Belgium taking against the hosts.
And it only took Belgium's Romelu Lukaku 10 minutes to pay respect to his Inter Milan teammate.
Lukaku raced over to the camera after scoring the game's first goal and said, "Chris, Chris, I love you!"
