Manchester United will face competition from Chelsea for Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, who is set to launch an £80 million bid for the England playmaker.
United have been tracking the 21-year-old for the past two years and are the favourites to sign him.
The Red Devils were interested in signing Sancho last summer but refused to pay Dortmund's asking price of £108 million.
However, Dortmund has since reduced their valuation of Sancho to around £80 million, which has piqued the interest of additional parties.
Chelsea is one of them, with Thomas Tuchel said to be a big fan of the England international. According to the Sun, Chelsea is ready to put Dortmund to the test with an £80 million bid for Sancho.
Sancho was born in London and grew up as a Chelsea supporter, which could benefit the Blues. The midfielder wants to return to the Premier League after leaving Manchester City for Dortmund in 2017 for a fee of £10 million.
Edinson Cavani's contract extension at Old Trafford means United can postpone plans to sign a striker for another year, allowing them to focus on signing Sancho.
At Stamford Bridge, Sancho would face stiffer competition on the right flank, with Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, and Callum Hudson-Odoi all capable of playing there. United, on the other hand, only have Mason Greenwood as a true out-and-out right-winger.
Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Paul Pogba have all played there but prefer to play on the left side.
