On Tuesday, when the Portuguese media was full of stories about Manchester United's pursuit of Sporting fullback Nuno Mendes, it was reported that the player's agent, Miguel Pinho, would be in England this week.
Because the official also represents Bruno Fernandes, it was reported that he would be meeting the Red Devils star and travelling to Old Trafford to discuss the youngster's move.
Two Portuguese newspapers covered the visit today. One of them is Correio da Manh, who claims in a short story that Pinho was at Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play Fulham.
He then allegedly approached Nuno Mendes about a possible move to the Red Devils, claiming he could already bring an offer to Lisbon.
The Lions are said to want €70 million for the move, which could be made up of €40 million or €45 million in cash, plus a player loan and performance bonuses.
Meanwhile, the newspaper Record has a bigger story, confirming that Pinho was watching the Manchester United-Fulham match.
Sporting was contacted by an 'emissary' from Manchester United regarding Nuno Mendes' transfer in the summer, according to the outlet.
They point out that Manchester City and Real Madrid are also interested in the player, and at this point, it appears that he will join the Premier League.
