This Man United upcoming star takes his season tally to 20 goals

Charlie McNeill can't seem to resist scoring. He scored again on Wednesday after scoring twice for Manchester United's under-18s the previous weekend.

The under-18s played a special midweek game against Sunderland, and McNeill scored early on.

DON'T MISS:

The teenage striker scored in the first half to bring United up 1-0, the first point in a 4-1 win.

It was his 20th goal of the season, and it was a classic poacher's shot from near range.

Nineteen of those goals have come in league competitions. He scored one more goal in his two Youth Cup games.

McNeill also appeared as a replacement in one under-23 game. So far, he has scored 20 goals in 22 academy games in all competitions.

DON'T MISS:

United won the game 4-1, and a goal aided by McNeill for Omari Forson in the first half was disallowed.

In addition to his 20 goals, the talented striker has five assists.

McNeill has been extremely reliable with the under-18s this season, which is why he sta nds out.

Alvaro Fernandez, Dillon Hoogewerf, and Isak Hansen-Aaroen were among the scorers in the midweek victory.

Nonetheless, McNeill has been so dominant at the under-18 level that no one has gotten close to his tally of 20 goals, with Hoogewerf coming nearest with eight.

Joe Hugill has six goals for the under-18s and was elevated to the under-23s, where he has another ten.

McNeill will be checked at the under-23 stage next season, but at the age of 17, United will not hurry him.

The youth is flourishing in his new situation and has made a huge impact since his transfer from Manchester City, which only happened at the beginning of October.

McNeill's goal count would have been much better if he had been around for the first four games of the under-18s season.
