Marc says he is 'delighted' after signing professional United contract

Marc says he is 'delighted' after signing professional United contract

Marc Jurado is the first Manchester United academy product to sign a professional deal.

Jurado was photographed signing his new contract and stated on Instagram that he was "delighted" to commit to the club.

DON'T MISS:

Jurado joined United from Barcelona last season, amid the Spanish club's best efforts to retain him.

He has played for United's under-18 team and turned 17 earlier this month.

Jurado has appeared in 14 under-18 games, two of which were in the FA Youth Cup.

He has already made one start for United's under-23 team, most recently as a replacement in a game against West Ham, hinting at a potential place in the upper age group next season.

DON'T MISS:

Jurado has been dominated by his Spanish counterpart, Alvaro Fernandez, who arrived from Real Madrid last summer.

Fernandez has played regularly for the under-23s and already has five assists at this stage. He is, however, 13 months older than Jurado.

This has been a good season for Jurado, and while right-back is a tough place to break into in the future, he already seems to be a very good prospect who will be given every chance to excel.

United's display of confidence may have been a formality, but it may make him feel more comfortable on and off the field.
