Manchester United has been left disappointed after it was announced that the club is one of 12 that have revealed intentions to create the Super League.
In what has been dubbed a "closed store," Europe's self-proclaimed "leading teams" will never risk elimination from the competition.
DON'T MISS:
If the Super League did come to fruition, it will be disastrous for the Champions League as the bulk of the largest teams would no longer participate throughout the competition.
The plans have been widely condemned, with fans, pundits, and politicians all speaking out against them.
DON'T MISS:
Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United's talisman, supported a post by Portugal international teammate Daniel Podence on Instagram after the Wolves winger shared a picture of himself playing in the Champions League with former club Olympiacos with the caption: "The occasion.
The melody.
The Daydream.
The volley by Zidane... Kaka's solo... Liverpool in Athens... Ole in Barcelona... Cris and Seedorf...
There are some things that we really cannot afford."
Fernandes posted the post on his Instagram story, using three clapping emojis and the words "Dreams can't buy," along with a love heart emoji.
