Manchester United legend Gary Neville was overjoyed when the Red Devils announced their withdrawal from the European Super League, joining the other five Premier League clubs.
The pundit was vehemently opposed to the proposal and made no attempt to conceal his feelings.
United legend Neville was one of the most outspoken opponents of proposals for a European Super League.
DON'T MISS:
The Sky Sports pundit slammed the plans on Sunday and has been a vocal opponent of the proposal.
Neville talked about the preparations on Tuesday night, following the withdrawal of the 'big six' Premier League clubs from the competition.
Throughout his numerous critiques, Neville listed five aspects he needs to see improved in football going forward.
DON'T MISS:
GLAZERS OUT
They are scavengers who should be kicked out of this football club and out of this world.
We need to band together.
"It could be too late; there will be Manchester United supporters from 15 years ago who will argue it's too late."
"It's never too late; we have to put a halt to this."
It is important that we do so."
HEFTY FINES
They'll get their public relations and marketing departments running around now, trying to make this sound as nice as possible in the next 24 hours, figuring out when the best time is to pull out."
"Perez could levy a £100 million fine on them."
I really hope so!
"I think Perez has the lot of them on a huge fine to remove."
WARNING OVER NEXT SESSION
We're in the middle of a pandemic, we've been trapped for eight months, and we're not in a good position.
"They wanted to steal the crown jewels when we were all down, and they practically made everyone rise, and I can't wait for next season."
"I can't wait for the fans to return to the stadium because there needs to be a coordinated, organized, mobilized, strategic campaign to transform football in this country."
"And I'm hoping they wind up swallowing each other."
OWNERSHIP RULE CHANGES
"We must all work together to ensure the ownership laws in this country are updated and that we have a mechanism in place to prevent this from happening.
"Whether it be government action, an independent regulator, a fan-owned club regulation, or anything else, we must ensure that this is the impetus for reform
UEFA AND FIFA TRUST
By some stretch of the imagination, I don't think they're the goodies.
Consider the corruption in global and European football over the last 20 years.
"There is a lot of confidence to be rebuilt in UEFA and FIFA before we can ever believe they are organizations we can truly trust."
"I'm worried because we've been arguing about sporting merit for the last 48 hours - the reason this has kicked off entirely is that the competition they 're proposing wasn't focused on sporting merit, and UEFA has to be sure they don't take it to the stage that they are destroying teams, taking places off teams because it has to really be fair."
