Tottenham confirmed Jose Mourinho's dismissal on Monday morning, with the club still seventh in the Premier League, five points outside the top four.
"Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most difficult times as a Club," said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in a tweet.

The announcement was taken on Friday night, after Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Everton, according to The Independent.
Mourinho took the unpopular move to keep Gareth Bale out of his starting XI once again, with the Wales international named on the bench. Levy was very keen to get Bale back to Spurs - and at a high expense.

Mourinho is said to have lost the support of the Spurs locker room in recent weeks, and the board is said to be responding to the may discontent among both the squad and the fans.
Tottenham training was postponed on Monday morning, according to the Evening Standard, and players didn't learn about the sacking until the official announcement was made.
Despite contradictory social media reports, the move had nothing to do with Spurs' announcement that it had signed a letter of intent to join the breakaway European Super League.
The midweek competition was announced on Sunday evening, with Tottenham announcing that they are one of the founding clubs interested in the proposal.
Both supporters and existing football bodies have been outraged by the decision.
