Tim Sherwood believes Marcus Rashford has ‘stood still' at Manchester United and has pushed the England star to step up his game.
Rashford has made 271 appearances for Manchester United since breaking into the main squad as a teenager in 2015-16.
Last season, the 23-year-old scored 21 goals in all competitions as Manchester United finished second in the Premier League and advanced to the Europa League final.
Former Premier League boss Sherwood, on the other hand, believes Rashford has stood still' after his first two breakthrough seasons at Old Trafford.
When asked about Mason Greenwood's growth and first-team chances this season, Sherwood told Premier League productions, "I think he will play enough this season because they will go deep in a number of competitions."

'Mason should look at his teammate, Marcus Rashford, and see how he's progressed.' Not in a negative way toward Marcus, but I believe he has come to a halt.
'Mason has to look at that and realize he needs to develop and keep going.' Marcus is a great player, but I believe he was much better when he had the same experience as Greenwood.
‘He needs to improve since he hasn't reached his ceiling yet.'
Manchester United proved their Premier League title credentials with a 5-1 win over Leeds United on the opening weekend.
Sherwood believes Solskjaer's team has "every possibility" of winning the Premier League, but believes they will "fall short," with rivals Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea also anticipated to perform well.
‘I believe they will just miss out on the title,' Sherwood remarked. 'But they have every opportunity.'
‘In the top four, you have Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United. Is it possible to break into that? I have my doubts.'
Meanwhile, Solskjaer was pleased with his team's performance against Leeds on Saturday, when they scored five goals, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a hat-trick and Paul Pogba providing four assists.
‘I couldn't have asked for anything more,' the Red Devils manager remarked.
‘You're always a little apprehensive before the first game – have we done enough in terms of fitness?' Tactics-wise? The sessions have been tailored specifically to this game. It's been a wonderful day.
'Right now, I'm really delighted with the squad.' We waited for Raphael [Varane] to finish everything. That meant a lot to the fans, and Jadon [Sancho] will continue to improve. We've got a few more coming back, so it's going to be a nice time.'
