Man Utd told they are already out of title race because of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision

Because of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United has been told that they will not win the Premier League this season.

According to former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already demonstrated why the Red Devils will not win the Premier League title this season. United has four points after their first two league games of the season. On Sunday, they were held to a 1-1 draw at Southampton.

O'Hara believes Solskjaer made a crucial error in that game.

Anthony Martial received his first start of the season in the center of the field.

Mason Greenwood, who started and scored from that position in the opening day 5-1 triumph over Leeds, has shifted to the right side.

Last season, Martial struggled for goals and missed the conclusion of the season due to injury.

O'Hara believes Solskjaer's choice to play the Frenchman demonstrates why he is not the appropriate manager to lead United to their first title since 2013.

"Playing Martial upfront by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sums up why I indicated at the start of the season that Man United are not title challengers," O'Hara remarked on talkSPORT.

"With the team that they have and the talent that they have, they should be title contenders.

"But their manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is murdering them.

"Martial was just dreadful; he had a terrible, terrible game. And his tactical decisions are simply absurd.

"Do you know why he stated he wanted to play Martial Arts? Because he has a good goal-scoring record against Southampton.

"Last season, they defeated Southampton 9-0, with everyone scoring.

"So, what's the point of playing Martial?"

This summer, Manchester United spent a lot of money on Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.

Sancho is yet to begin as he returns to full fitness.

However, O'Hara believes it is past time for the England international to make his complete debut.

He continued, saying: "Play Sancho, you just paid £73 million or whatever you paid for him.

"Why aren't you playing him? Why aren't you introducing him? Play Mason Greenwood and Sancho upfront."

Solskjaer explained why he started Martial against St Mary's: "We wanted to get Antho going, to have two more forwards, Anthony to drift towards the left and Mason coming inside from the right."

United's next game is against the Wolves on Sunday (4.30pm).
