Man Utd boss Solskjaer has already made thoughts clear on Cristiano Ronaldo joining City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer feels that anyone with Manchester United ties should never contemplate joining Manchester City.

“I am not a newspaper reader. Anyway, I'm aware of how much garbage is posted there "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about the potential of Cristiano Ronaldo joining bitter rivals Manchester City earlier today. While the Manchester United manager did not explicitly address the likelihood of his former teammate joining the club's noisy neighbors, he did express his feelings on the subject earlier this year.

When City announced Sergio Aguero would be going at the end of the season earlier this year, Solskjaer dismissed suggestions that United would be interested right away.

His point of view was that no United player should ever consider joining City, no matter what happened along the route.

Of course, there have been a few outliers, such as his teammates Peter Schmeichel and Andy Cole, as well as Carlos Tevez.

However, Solskjaer made it clear that he values loyalty and what it means to wear the renowned red United shirt.

He added earlier this year, "When I was at Manchester United if a rival club tried to sign me and I went, then, where's the loyalty?"

“Loyalty is one of the virtues I hold in great regard. I wouldn't expect a player who has been with a team for ten years to want to join their competitors.

“It isn't for me. I understand we're professionals, but when you play for Manchester United, you don't go to Manchester City. We've seen examples like this, and I'm not sure I agree with it.

“I won't name names, but you all know who I'm talking about. That is all there is to it.”

Solskjaer has made it clear that he does not approve of former Manchester United players joining City later in their careers, and the same might potentially be said of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to reports, CR7 has agreed to personal terms with City, paving the way for a possibly stunning return to the Premier League and Manchester.

Jorge Mendes is actively working on the transaction, and City has already turned down his advances.

The Premier League winners are reluctant to pay a fee for the Juventus attacker, with the Italian club asking up to £25 million.

The city does not want to spend so much money on a 36-year-old who will likewise seek exorbitant pay.

Instead, they have decided to explore a deal if they can capture Ronaldo on a free transfer, with Harry Kane expected to remain at Tottenham.

Last summer, Solskjaer stated that he would love to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, but that he had no intention of doing so.

“Don't forget that I played with Cristiano, and he's the finest player in the world — therefore I wouldn't mind having him on my team as well "In June 2020, he stated.

Now, Solskjaer may be faced with the unimaginable prospect of Ronaldo wearing sky blue at Old Trafford later this season...
