Spurs are planning a move for Manchester United's Anthony Martial.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly mulling a move for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, who is expected to leave the Red Devils this summer.

Martial has been with United since 2015, having joined from AS Monaco in a high-profile transfer. While the Frenchman had a fantastic first season in England, he hasn't been able to maintain the same level of success year after year.

After another strong season in 2019/20, the forward struggled in 2020/21 before suffering an injury, preventing him from being selected for the Euro 2020 tournament in France. Regardless, Martial is a terrific forward who can play on the left or through the middle, and he is a target for Tottenham.

Following the departures of Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius, both of whom returned to their parent clubs after their loan stints expired, Tottenham may use some forward reinforcements. With Harry Kane's future in doubt, bringing in an experienced Premier League forward like Martial may be a smart move for Tottenham.

Manchester United, however, who are eager to trade the Frenchman after signing Jadon Sancho, will seek a £50 million transfer fee for the attacker, according to the report. Furthermore, Martial would seek hefty weekly pay of £250,000, which would be another big stumbling point in any agreement.

Despite his problems, Martial is still a good forward with a lot of potential, and his finest years are yet ahead of him. If a deal can be reached on the transfer fee and salaries, he can prove to be a worthwhile signing, since the Frenchman has what it takes to succeed in the correct environment.
