Journalist gives fresh update on Man United star's future


 According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is still trying to persuade Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford and extend his contract.

Due to the fact that his current contract at Old Trafford is set to expire at the end of next season, the World Cup winner's future has been a constant talking point this year.

As things stand, Pogba would be free to start talks with foreign clubs in January about a possible move ahead of a possible free transfer at the end of the season.

Manchester United will undoubtedly be eager to settle the 28-year-future old's in the coming weeks, as his contract at Old Trafford is coming to an end.

In recent weeks, there have been rumors that Paris Saint-Germain is one of the main contenders for Pogba's signature this summer.

Now, according to Italian journalist Romano, Manchester United is still trying to persuade Pogba to sign a new contract with the club, despite PSG's interest.

“Yes, it's a possibility [he could leave],” Romano said on the Don Robbie YouTube channel. In France, I heard a lot of rumors that PSG is close to signing Pogba.

“What I'm told is that there is interest right now, of course, because we're talking about one of the best players in the world at his position, and PSG is looking for a new midfielder. They want to do something different in the midfield than [Georginio] Wijnaldum.

“Talks haven't progressed because Manchester United hasn't had direct talks with PSG about the price yet.
