Manchester United: PSG have not made contact over Paul Pogba

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly made no touch with Manchester United about a prospective transfer for Paul Pogba.

So, what's the story here?

According to the Manchester Evening News, several sites have linked the French giants with a bid for the 28-year-old when he entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford. However, no formal approach has been made.

DON'T MISS:

Pogba is said to be unconcerned about his future and has settled in Cheshire with his family, despite the fact that United players close to the midfielder believe he should be allowed to leave since it is in the best interests of both the player and the club.

Will Pogba continue to play for United?

Solskjaer is going to be ecstatic.

Despite the ongoing rumors and uncertainty surrounding Pogba's future, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be relieved to learn that PSG has made no contact.

During his tenure at the club, the France international has established himself as a key player for the 20-time English champions, probably producing his best-ever form in a Red Devils shirt in the second part of last season.

DON'T MISS:

Pogba has scored 38 goals and contributed 42 assists in 206 games for United since joining from Juventus for £89 million in 2016. He has also won the League Cup and the Europa League.

However, he has been unable to lead the club to any of football's major awards, frequently suffering for consistency and receiving much criticism as a result.

However, some of the negative narratives have been particularly severe on the £54 million-rated beast. During Pogba's tenure at United, the club failed to build a strong enough team to challenge for the Champions League or the Premier League, and it is only now that they are making progress.

For the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirements, United have finished in the top four in successive seasons under Solskjaer, have reached several semi-finals, and were beaten in the Europa League final last season.

With the impending arrival of Jadon Sancho and the prospective signing of Raphael Varane, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the verge of assembling a team capable of restoring United to the top of the sport.

Losing Pogba, who has been dubbed a "monster" in recent seasons, would be a catastrophic blow to Solsjaer's progress during his two-and-a-half-year reign, and he'll be hoping the World Cup-winning dynamo signs a new contract and commits his future to United for many years.
