After England's 4-0 Euro 2020 victory against Ukraine on Saturday, Jose Mourinho declared that Luke Shaw is "performing more and better" for England.
The 25-year-old full-back earned his fourth appearance for Gareth Southgate's side in the tournament, helping the Three Lions to a resounding victory in Rome and a place in the semi-finals against Denmark.
DON'T MISS:
Shaw assisted on two of England's goals and played 65 minutes in the match to help the Three Lions reach the quarterfinals.
Mourinho has been loud in his criticism of Manchester United's left-back in the past, but after Shaw's excellent performance on Saturday, the former Red Devils coach appears to have changed his mind.
Mourinho stated on talkSPORT on Shaw's performance against Ukraine: "Luke Shaw is performing better and better and better." I believe that the back four, combined with the incredible Euro performances of both central midfielders, will be more than enough to keep Denmark at bay offensively. Then you have four participants to decide on the game's creativity.”
DON'T MISS:
The AS Roma manager also warned the Three Lions that they will face a tough test against Denmark on Wednesday night at Wembley.
“Of course it was a good performance; they made it easier,” he continued. It should have been a simple game for England, as I predicted when we last spoke.
It was always in my hands. There have been no issues, no injuries, no bans, and a semi-final that will be more difficult to win since Denmark is a far superior team than Ukraine.”
Shaw made 32 Premier League appearances for Manchester United last season, scoring one goal and assisting five times as the Red Devils finished second in the rankings, 12 points behind champions Manchester City.
